League for Innovation

President Daniel Phelan and the Board of Trustees at Jackson College are excited to announce the College’s acceptance as a Board Member organization to the League for Innovation in the Community College.

The League board is comprised of 20 chief executive officers from the most influential, resourceful and dynamic community colleges and districts in the world. The League’s President and CEO, Dr. Rufus Glasper, together with the board welcomed Jackson College and President Phelan to the League Board at its meeting at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary, Canada. Glasper said, “Innovation is a critical element of Jackson College’s mission, vision, and values, and Dr. Phelan’s dynamic leadership is guiding the institution into the future. We look forward to courageous conversations seeded by innovation.”

Phelan noted that the acceptance was the result of the vision of the College’s Board of Trustees, combined with the innovative, entrepreneurial, service-focused and hard work of Jackson College employees. Concerning the benefits that will accrue to the College through this selection, Phelan said, “The board membership with the League connects the College to a group of innovative, creative leaders helping to improve college education. Through working with our new League colleagues, at all levels throughout our institution, we will be better able to generate new ideas and innovations, access grants, and collaboratively solve implacable problems facing our industry, while further advancing what Jackson College has done for decades: preparing students for the fast-changing workplace and offering world-class education, based on our Total Commitment to Student Success (TCS2). The League for Innovation gives us more tools to help boost success. We are excited about this new opportunity!”
